Something about it looks to me as though my little nephew, Sam, woke up in the middle of the night and made himself a mickey-mouse-shaped pancake, only to get busted by whoever took this photograph. Or maybe I'm just tired...

Funny! Perhaps you are right.
Lars, i love it! and I agree with Miriam, that scenario is more likely than any other. After his nutella, frosting, and now girl scout cookie escapades, I believe anything is possible for that kid.
